What types of dorms are offered to international students at TAU?

Undergraduate students are offered shared dorms with 2 students in each room (2 rooms in every apartment) in the Einstein complex, just across the street from the main gate of the university. There is also an option of staying in single studio apartments in the new Broshim complex, just south of the university campus.

Please note that dorm spots are limited.

What is the cost of dorms in TAU and what does that include?

Staying in a shared room in the Einstein dorms costs $600 (USD) a month. The studio apartments in Broshim cost $800 a month. This includes electricity, municipal taxes, water, cable TV, Wi-Fi internet, and AC.
All apartments have a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, and hot-plate. There is also a table and chairs for the students to dine. The bedrooms have a bed, desk + chair, and a closet. Each bedroom also has a flat screen TV with cable.
Please note- the dorms do not provide linens, towels, pillows, blankets, eating utensils, etc.

If I intend to stay in the shared rooms in the Einstein dorms, who will be my roommate and/or flat-mates?

International students are placed in rooms and flats with other students in the international programs.

What facilities are offered in the dorm complexes?

The Einstein dorms are more centrally located in the Ramat Aviv neighborhood. There is a Laundromat inside the dorm complex and some vending machines with snacks and soft drinks. If you go outside the dorm, there are many options in the neighborhood that are under 5 minutes walking: Elite sports center, supermarket, student bar, book store, shopping mall, convenience store, 3 different banks, and many restaurants.

Broshim dorms are located on the corner of the Ramat Aviv neighborhood. The Broshim dorms host a supermarket, café, fast food, candy shop, ice cream parlor, and a brewery will be established soon. The Broshim dorms are a very close walk from the Ramat Aviv train station and like in Einstein, they host a Laundromat.

Both dorm complexes are easily accessible by bus.

How do I pay for the dorms?

The documents required for application are:

The dorm fees are updated on the TAU International student portal (the same system you applied through) along with all your other fees: tuition, confirmation fee, application fee, etc. Like the tuition, dorms are supposed to be paid before your entrance date or you can choose to enter the Deferred Payment Plan (DPP) in which you can spread your fee to 2-4 installments.

Is there parking in the dorms for residents?

There is no free parking for students at the dorms. There are several parking lots nearby that have discounts for students and there are occasional parking spots on the street that is free for full-time residents of Tel Aviv but cost money to non-residents of Tel Aviv.

What is the security situation in the dorms?

The dorm complexes have 24/7 security with the students' security at the top of their priorities. This is enforced by issuing every dorm residents a security chip in which they can enter the dorms. At night, only student residents can enter the dorm complex.

If a student has a guest, they will need to provide information to the dorm office in advance. Note, it is not possible to host spontaneously in the dorms.
