Yafit Shachar completed her PhD in the School of Cultural Studies at Tel Aviv University. She holds degrees in English and American Studies, Communication, and Film & Television. Her academic interests include rhetoric and rhetorical analysis, gender and politics, religion and politics, polemics, and media representations.
Yafit also has practical experience in the communication industry, working for advertising and public relations agencies in Israel, promoting both local and international clients. She was awarded the Fox International Fellowship by Yale University for the 2021/2 academic year. During 2023-4, she was a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford and at Goethe University Frankfurt. She is currently a Kreitman postdoctoral fellow at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (2025/6) and a teaching fellow at Tel Aviv University.
